SAN FRANCISCO (February 16, 2018) — Dominique Walker went 2-for-3 with a two-run single, but it wasn't enough in the Coyotes' 5-3 loss to San Francisco State in Friday's softball opener.
The second game was tied at 10-10 in the 10
th inning before darkness set in. The game will be completed beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the regular-scheduled doubleheader to follow.
The Coyotes, who trailed 1-0, through two innings, got the bases loaded with one out with Walker at the plate in the third. Her single to left scored
Taylor Ancona (hit by pitch) and
Brooke Thomas (walk).
Morgan Ratliff, who reached on a walk, scored when Walker was caught on her way to second.
But SFSU answered with a run in the third, one in the fifth and two in the sixth for the win.
Monica Maddox accounted for CSUSB's only other hit.
CSUSB dropped to 5-5, 0-5 CCAA, while SFSU improved to 5-5, 4-1.
