SAN BERNARDINO (February 16, 2018) — San Francisco State finished Friday night's game on a 13-3 run in the final 97 seconds and dealt the Coyotes a 77-67 CCAA loss Friday night at Coussoulis Arena.
 
What the loss means
CSUSB, which lost its second straight, dropped to 12-12 overall and 10-10 CCAA. SFSU improved to 15-10, 11-8.
 
Get back into the game
The Coyotes trailed 38-31 with 17:28 left in the game, before bouncing back. CSUSB utilized an 18-4 run and led 49-42 on Jacardo Hawkins' 3-pointer with 12:42 remaining. SFSU answered with a run of its own, outscoring CSUSB 15-6 immediately afterward.
 
The final 3:49
CSUSB grabbed a 64-61 lead on Elijah Brown's 3-pointer with 3:49 left. SFSU's Brantley Bynum tied the game at 64-64 with a 3-pointer, and that triggered the Gators' game-ending run.
 
For the Coyotes
Brown led the Coyotes with 16 points and Hawkins had 12. Dorian Butler was the only other Coyote in double figures with 10.
 
And for the Gators
CSUSB did not have an answer against senior guard Warren Jackson, who earned game-high honors in points (23) and rebounds (14).
 
Senior Night
CSUSB returns to Coussoulis Arena on Saturday night against Sonoma State. The Coyotes will honor their seven seniors — Blake McBride, Brown, Nolan Kelly, Hawkins, T.A Dixon, Brandon Staton and Butler — in a pregame ceremony.
