SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes picked up a nice bounce-back win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Humboldt State, 83-73, inside Coussoulis Arena.
Daytone Jennings was fantastic with 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go with four assists going seven-of-16 from the field. Garrett Baggett added 20 hitting three threes. Naradain James scored 13 and grabbed five boards, as did Baggett. Tyrell Henderson grabbed nine boards off the bench.
HSU scored their first 15 points off threes and led 15-6 through the first eight minutes. The Coyotes fell down by as much as 13, but started fighting back and finished the half on a 21-11 run to trail 38-35 at the break. They came out quick in the second half and seized the lead, 42-40, on a three from Baggett. James followed with a three and by the 15-minute mark they led by 10, 51-41. Two free throws pushed the lead to 15 and it only got as close as seven in the waning minutes.
CSUSB dominated the glass, 42-33 and the paint, 34-10 in points. The Coyotes 4-3, 1-2 CCAA will host Saint Katherine from The Den on the CSUSB campus on December 9 at 7 pm. Live links are available on csusbathletics.com.
