SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes made 10 threes and defeated CSULA 74-52 inside of Coussoulis Arena on Thursday night, 74-52.
Jasmine Sauser led the way with 27 points, scoring 17 in the first half and hit four threes, going 10-of-16 from the field. Courtney Coleman scored 14 points, hitting four threes in seven attempts. Arianna Knox added 11 points and grabbed nine boards. The Yotes held CSULA to two-of-16 from three and shot 47.1 percent from the field.
CSULA led early but CSUSB tied and took the lead late in the first quarter on a flurry of threes to lead 19-14 after one. Two more threes early in the second quarter from Sauser pushed the lead to 13 and it never got below nine in the frame. The Yotes never let the lead get below double digits in the second half.
The Yotes scored 27 points off 17 CSULA turnovers and scored 14 fastbreak points. The Coyotes (2-3, 1-0 CCAA) are back at it on Saturday, hosting Humboldt State at 1 pm. Live links are available on csusbathletics.com.
