SAN DIEGO – The CSUSB Coyotes saw a one-point halftime deficit get away from them late in a 97-63 loss at UC San Diego on Tuesday night.
The Tritons made 10 second-half threes to extend a game that was 35-36 at the break. Naradain James led CSUSB with 13 points to go with seven boards and Daytone Jennings added 12 and eight. Garrett Baggett joined them in double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds. The Coyotes shot fairly consistently, shooting 42 percent in the first half and 39 percent in the second, making four threes in each half.
UCSD led by 11 midway through the first half, but the Yotes finished the half on a 10-0 run with two threes from James and one from Baggett. Early in the second half the Yotes got it down to one twice and were only down four seven minutes in. UCSD caught fire from there though and put the game away.
