CARSON, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes took an early lead at CSU Dominguez Hills on Thursday and held it into the 79th minute, but a CSUDH goal at that point tied the match and a penalty kick in overtime saw the Yotes fall 1-2.
Vanessa Gonzalez scored for CSUSB in the fifth minute on an assist from Kelly Kevershan. Gonzalez was able to take her defender one-on-one and beat the keeper at the top of the box. CSUDH tied the match at 79:28 following their own shot off the post. Destiny Aragon and Alyssa Campa both put shots on goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
The penalty kick came three minutes into overtime. The Coyotes only trailed in shots on goal by two, 6-8.
