SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The CSUSB Coyotes honored their five seniors prior to Sunday's match against CSU San Marcos, and after trailing 2-0 late into the game, made it interesting with a goal in the 75th minute but eventually falling 2-1.
With seniors Haidee Duran, Nora Perez, Cassandra Bermudez, Gabby Evaristo, and Alyssa Campa all playing heaving minutes, it was Campa who scored off the pass from Kelly Kevershan and Perez in the 75th minute. The Cougars went full defensive mode after that and the Coyotes could not find another shot.
CSUSM scored in the 32nd and 64th minutes, and shot from all over the field, taking 13 in total with Sophia Cortez and Carly Luna combining to make five saves. The Cougars only led 7-4 in shots on goal however.
The Coyotes (4-9, 3-5 CCAA) head out on the road to finish the regular season, beginning on Friday at 4:30 pm at Cal State East Bay. Live links are available on csusbathletics.com.
