Late Charge From CSUEB Downs Yotes

CSUSB holds early lead

HAYWARD, Calif. – Two second-half goals snagged the CSUSB Coyotes at CSU East Bay on Friday afternoon in a 3-2 loss.

The Coyotes opened scoring in the 31st minute with a goal from Sarah Savella with Gabby Evaristo on the assist.  Just seven minutes later CSUSB made it 2-0 when Nicole Hirigoyen scored on Alyssa Campa's assist.  Just before half, East Bay got on the board in the 40th minute.

East Bay was able to score two second-half goals, one coming in the 50th minute and another in the 86th minute. 

After the match was tied, Kelly Kevershan had a shot in the 73rd minute saved and Cassandra Bermudez had one saved a minute later.  Vanessa Gonzalez missed wide just before the CSUEB winning goal.  The teams ended the match, each with five shots on goal. 

The Coyotes stay on the road and will face CSU Monterey Bay on Sunday at 2 pm.  Live links are available on csusbathletics.com.
