HAYWARD (January 27, 2018) — CSUSB rocked on all cylinders Saturday night in its 91-70 victory over host Cal State East Bay in CCAA play.
Big-time victory
CSUSB shot a season-high 58.3 percent (35 of 60) and posted its largest margin of victory since an 81-56 win over Notre Dame de Namur on Nov. 14, 2015.
Winning streak
CSUSB (10-10, 8-8 CCAA) matched its season-best winning streak to three with the victory over the Pioneers (8-14, 4-12).
Leading the way
Senior
Dorian Butler broke through the 20-point level with a game-high 23 points. He became the seventh Coyote this season to score at least 20 points in a game.
Ajon Efferson had 18 (four 3s) and
Elijah Brown added 16 on 8 of 10 shooting.
Dishing out assists
The Coyotes were masterful in their playmaking, dishing out 30 assists on 35 field goals. The 30 assists are the most in a game since their 30 against SFSU on Feb. 28, 2013.
Way to go Blake
Senior
Blake McBride earned his second double-double in as many weeks, this time with 10 points and 11 assists. His 11 assists are the most by a Coyote since Lacy Haddock's 12 against Humboldt State on Jan. 31, 2014.
That's impressive
Tied at 17-17 with 11:25 to go in the first half, CSUSB struck with an 11-1 run and remained in control for the duration. Butler scored six points in that pivotal run.
.500 mark
CSUSB reached the .500 mark for the first time since opening the season 3-3 after its Nov. 25
th victory over Humboldt State.
