Coyotes show offensive power again

SAN BERNARDINO (January 26, 2018) — For the second straight game CSUSB flexed its muscles on the offensive end, routing host Cal State Monterey Bay 80-55 in CCAA play Friday night.

You'd have to go back to the last century …
CSUSB proved it scoring mettle again, scoring 80 points in consecutive regulation games for the first time in 24 seasons (last Saturday's 89-71 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills). CSUSB last scored consecutive 80-point games during the 2014-15 season, but one included an OT loss to Cal Poly Pomona.

Five in double figures
For the second straight game the Coyotes had five scoring in double figures. Aleayah Kindred-Hendrix led with 13 points, followed by Tehya Burroughs with 12, Jasmine Sauser 11, Lunden Junious-Reliford and Kaitlyn Parks with 10 apiece.

Large margin
The 25-point victory matched CSUSB's largest margin of victory this year (St. Martin's 69-44, Nov. 11).

Hitting 50 percent
CSUSB also matched its best shooting game of the season. The Coyotes were 34 of 68 from the field, thanks to a 60-percent effort in the second half. CSUSB last shot 50 percent in its 80-65 win over Chico State on Dec. 3.

A look at the stat sheet shows
CSUSB dominated on the defensive end. The Coyotes forced 22 CSUMB turnovers and converted them into a 29-5 points off turnovers rate.

And the record shows
CSUSB improved to 8-11 overall and 6-9 in the CCAA. CSUMB dropped to 5-15, 4-11. The Coyotes next play tomorrow night at Cal State East Bay.
