SAN BERNARDINO (January 20, 2018) — CSUSB's best offense was based on its defense Saturday night in its 74-55 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in CCAA play at Coussoulis Arena.
Who stood out?
Dorian Butler and
Jacardo Hawkins shared game-high scoring honors with 16 points each.
Ajon Efferson was next with 12 and
Blake McBride had his first double-double at CSUSB with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Turning point
CSUSB never trailed and led by as many as 21 points in improving to 8-10 overall and 6-8 CCAA. Despite shooting only 39.7 percent, CSUSB played well on defense by outscoring CSUDH 18-5 on turnovers, forcing 14 Toros' miscues. CSUSB allowed a season-low points allowed.
Dominating off the glass
CSUSB outscored the Toros 11-2 on second-chance shots. It won the battle off the glass, outrebounding CSUDH 48-35.
Playing time
Thirteen Coyotes saw action with 11 scoring.
Amin Sahwani scored his first points of his career with a driving layup late in the contest.

Justin Frazier dished a game-high eight assists and Efferson dealt six. All told, CSUSB dealt 22 assists on 27 field goals.
