ROHNERT PARK (March 11, 2017) — The Coyotes lost both ends of their doubleheader Saturday against Sonoma State, losing 8-0 and 3-2.
The Coyotes (12-10, 7-7 CCAA) return to Coyote Park this weekend against No. 1 Humboldt State.
Game 1: Sonoma State 8, Coyotes 0
Morgan Ratliff led off the game with a single and the Coyotes didn't get their final hit of the game until
Briana Quintana's double in the third.
The Seawolves won the game with seven runs in the fifth.
Cassandra Williams took the loss, giving up eight runs (three earned). She struck out four.
Game 2: Sonoma State 3, Coyotes 2
Monica Maddox,
Ashley Leffingwell and
Jessica Brown all had two hits apiece for the Coyotes.
But the Coyotes stranded nine runners on base and SSU took advantage, despite being out-hit by CSUSB 9-5.
