LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 4, 2017) — Jessica Brown delivered a two-run home run and
Jessica Angulo added a two-run double in the Coyotes' 6-2 win over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday in continuing play at the Desert Stinger Tournament.
The Coyotes struck with two runs in the first and second innings — thanks to Angula's blast in the second — and Brown laced her shot in the fourth.
Cassandra Williams earned the win in four innings. Sophomore
Amanda Ramirez earned the save.
Game 2: Coyotes 5, Western Oregon 4
The Coyotes trailed 4-2 entering their half of the sixth when they grabbed the lead for good.
Brown hit a solo home run in the fourth, and
Amanda Herrera earned an RBI on a ground-out in the fifth.
Down 4-2,
Taylor Ancona and Brown each scored after reaching base on singles and tied the game at 4-4.
In the seventh, Ancona came through with a walk-off double to right that scored Brook Thomas.
Morgan Ratliff, Ancona and Brown all had two hits.
Williams improved to 3-1 with five strikeouts.
The Coyotes wrap up tourney play Sunday afternoon against Hawaii-Hilo.
