SAN BERNARDINO (December 19, 2017) – Junior reserve
Rachel Cain took on the scoring load for CSUSB, scoring a team season-high 20 points on six 3-pointers, but it wasn't enough in the Coyotes' 60-49 loss to Cal Poly Pomona in CCAA play Tuesday night.
Raising Cain
The La Palma native finished the night 6 of 7 from the field – all 3s – and was 2 of 2 from the free throw line. She scored four treys in the second quarter that helped the Coyotes draw within four of the lead at halftime, 27-23.
Rough night
Cain's 6 of 7 effort from the floor offset the Coyotes' collective shooting against the Broncos. Her teammates combined on 8 of 49 shots.
Arianna Knox followed Cain in scoring with six points. CSUSB had nine 3s on the night, with
Tehya Burroughs,
Leelee Owens and
Aleayah Kindred-Hendrix each scoring one.
