SAN FRANCISCO (November 16, 2017) — The Coyotes flexed their muscles in Thursday night's CCAA Tourney opener, routing Cal State Monterey Bay in straight sets.

The Coyotes (25-15, 26-25, 25-11) won their eighth straight match and improved to 19-7 overall. They will face Cal State East Bay (a 3-0 winner over UC San Diego) in Friday's semifinals. A victory over the Pioneers would give the Coyotes their 20
th win on the season – the 21
st straight year of 20 wins or more.

Lauren Nicholson ripped 11 kills with 10 digs, but was far from the only standout on this night. Fellow All-CCAA first-team

CSUSB raced to a 20-5 lead in the third for its decisive win. CSUSB hit .336 (47/8/116) for the win.
