CHICO (Jan. 27, 2017) — Junior guard Eli Brown led CSUSB with 17 points, and Khleem Perkins followed with 14 in the Coyotes' 87-70 loss to No. 23 Chico State in CCAA basketball Friday night.
 
The loss evened the Coyotes' overall record to 8-8 and 4-7 in the CCAA, while the Wildcats improved to 17-3, 10-2.
 
The Wildcats hit 63 percent from the floor in the second half and totaled 57.4 percent (31-54) for the game. They led the entire second half, and allowed the Coyotes to within four points just once over the game's final 24 minutes and 35 seconds.
 
Ramon Eaton was the only other Coyote in double figures with 12. CCAA Player of the Week Everett Turner was held to just eight points in 36 minutes.
 
Jalen McDermott led Chico State with 24 points and Justin Briggs had 19. The Wildcats' leading scorer, Robert Duncan, scored only six points and committed six turnovers.
 
The Coyotes are at Stanislaus State on Saturday night.
