TURLOCK (Jan. 28, 2017) —
Jordan Williams put himself in proper position with a put-back basket with one second remaining, giving the Coyotes a 66-64 win over Stanislaus State in CCAA basketball Saturday night.

Wiliams gathered a rebound and scored the game winner, giving the Coyotes a split road weekend. Everett Turner led with 16 points and Khleem Perkins added 15 as the Coyotes improved to 9-8 overall and 5-7 in the CCAA. Ramon Eaton also scored in double digits with 13.

The Coyotes overcame the Warriors' 57.9 second-half shooting percentage by taking advantage on the defensive end. CSUSB forced 17 CSUS turnovers, and converted them into 19 points.

CSUSB led by seven (60-53) as late as 8:14 left in the game and held off the Warriors. Despite going four-plus minutes scoreless, Eaton extended the Coyotes' lead to 62-58 with a layup with 2:57 left.

Four straight points by Jaelen Ragsdale (a layup and two free throws) tied the game at 62-62 with 1:07 left. After a Warriors' timeout, Perkins drained a jumper, but it was matched by Richard Medina and the game was tied for the third time, 64-64 with 39 seconds left.

CSUSB's Blake McBride missed a 3-pointer, but Eaton gathered the offensive board and the Coyotes retained possession with 14 seconds left. Each team called a timeout, and Turner had the ball and fired off a 3-point attempt that was off with two seconds left.

Williams got the rebound, and responded with the put-back that was good. It marked the second time in 10 days that the Coyotes won on a last-second shot.

Turner had four 3s, and McBride and Eli Brown each had two 3s.

Brown finished with nine points.

Medina led the Warriors, now 6-14, 3-10, with 12 points.
