SANTA ROSA (Jan. 13, 2017) – Khleem Perkins led CSUSB with 21 points, but Sonoma State led the entire second half and dealt the Coyotes a 66-56 loss in CCAA basketball Friday night
 
Perkins finished 8 of 10 from the field, and teammates Dorian Butler (12) and Ramon Eaton (10) also reached double figures for the Coyotes, who take a 6-6 overall record and 2-5 CCAA slate into Saturday night's game at No. 25 San Francisco State.
 
SSU (10-4, 6-2) hit 52.4 percent from the field and hit 14 of 16 free throws in the second half for its 10-point win.
 
It was a tough night of shooting against the nation's top defensive unit as CSUSB had more turnovers (20) than buckets (19).
 
The Seawolves held a 24-11 point edge in free throws.
 
Jackson Gion led SSU with 18 points. Jimmy Golden had 16.
