SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 6, 2016) – The Coyotes outplayed No. 23 UC San Diego for three quarters in their CCAA game Saturday night, but the visiting Tritons made the most of the opening quarter and that was enough to hand the Coyotes a 65-58 defeat at Coussoulis Arena.

UCSD remained out front, but CSUSB closed to within four on a 3-pointer from
Chelsea Austin and it had a two-possession game trailing 62-58 with 18 seconds left.
However, the Tritons hit three free throws down the stretch.
CSUSB out-shot the Tritons on 38.1 percent shooting, but UCSD hit five 3s and outscored CSUSB 20-8 at the free throw line.
