Box Score 2 SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 27, 2016) -- The Coyotes made their 2016 Fiscalini Field debut, but No. 11 UC San Diego did not offer any favors by defeating the Coyotes 20-4 and 5-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Coyotes (7-11, 2-4 CCAA) and Tritons (13-2, 3-0) conclude their four-game series at 1 p.m. Sunday in La Jolla.
Game 1: Tritons 20, Coyotes 4Grant Buchanan had a pair of hits to lead CSUSB, but this one belonged to the Tritons who scored at least three runs in five innings.
Tyler Plantier led UCSD at the plate going 4-for-7 with four RBI, and Tyler Duran also had four RBI.
Plantier hit a three-run home run in the first.
Game 2: Tritons 5, Coyotes 3Trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the fifth,
Damion Edmonds got the Yotes on the board with a fielder's choice that scored
William Ouellette. One inning later, Buchanan scored an unearned run after leading off with a single.
Buchanan then had a two-out double to left center in the seventh that scored
Andrew Lopez who led off with a walk.
Brian Conley threw five innings and took the loss. He had four strikeouts with five walks.
