LANCASTER (Feb. 18, 2016) — Austin Lundeen's two-run home run set the tone for the Coyotes on Thursday afternoon in their 4-2 win over Cal State L.A. in a nonconference game at The Hangar.
CSUSB (6-7 overall) takes a three-game winning streak into Friday's doubleheader when it faces British Columbia at 12 p.m. and Cal State L.A. at 4 p.m.
Lundeen delivered the 2-0 lead in the first with two outs.
Jake Caron singled to right and Lundeen then connected for his first home run of the season.
Junior RHP
Tyler Wells played his role with six solid innings. After retiring the first six batters, CSULA struck with a run on three hits in the third.
He finished with four strikeouts, four walks and allowed just four hits. Both runs were earned.
Damion Edmonds got the run back with a run-scoring single in the fifth. His single to right drove in
Dylan Lohman, who led off with a walk.
CSULA earned its final run of the game in the sixth and the Coyotes secured a two-run lead in the eighth, thanks to
Brian Lockey's two-out single that scored Caron, who singled to left center.
Caron had three of the Coyotes' six hits. Lockey had a pair of singles.
William Ouellette secured his third save of the season with a 1-2-3 ninth.
