Everett Turner scored a game-high 24 points, but CSUSB dug itself a hole in the first half and never got out of it in a 70-55 defeat at Cal State San Marcos in CCAA men's basketball Wednesday night.
The loss snapped CSUSB's three-game winning streak and the Coyotes will take a 3-2 overall mark and 0-1 CCAA slate into Saturday's game at Cal State Monterey Bay.
The Cougars took control early, outscoring CSUSB 27-5 in the final 9 minutes for a 42-16 halftime lead. Turner scored nine of his 24 points in the opening half and finished 9 of 16 from the field.
