SAN FRANCISCO (Jan. 9, 2016) -- Everett Turner led the Coyotes with a game-high 18 points and guard
Keith Smith followed with 13 in CSUSB's 74-57 loss to host San Francisco State in CCAA men's basketball Saturday night.
The Coyotes (4-8, 1-7 CCAA) return to the Bay Area next, beginning Friday night at Cal State Monterey Bay. They will play at Cal State East Bay on Saturday.
SFSU (8-5, 2-5) led the entire second half and by as many as 14 late in the first half. An 8-0 run -- all by Turner -- in the final 101 seconds of the half made the halftime margin six points. (31-25).
The Coyotes got to within three points twice in the final 20 minutes, but the Gators were too strong. Five players scored in double figures and SFSU was led by Warren Jackson and Jon McMurry, who each scored 15 points.
Senior
Zeke DeBlase had three assists to lead CSUSB, while Smith led in rebounds with five. Turner had two steals and four of his seven field goals were 3-pointers.
