SAN BERNARDINO (Jan. 23, 2016) —
Summer Ramsey and
Brianna Harden each scored 12 points to lead the Coyotes in their 87-73 loss to CCAA-leading Cal State Dominguez on Baker's Pack The Gym Night at Coussoulis Arena on Saturday night.
The Coyotes (10-6, 7-5 CCAA), who trailed by as many as 24 points, fell behind by double digits with a minute to go in the first quarter and could not get closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
Senior
Alexcia Mack added 11 with a game-high seven assists.
The Toros (13-6, 11-0) shot 47.8 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Coyotes 52-37. Breanne Garcia, a senior from Highland, scored a game-high 24 points with four 3-pointers. Monay Lee had 18 with 10 rebounds.
CSUDH gained control of the game with a 15-2 run that began with 5:20 left in the first quarter. It led 47-29 at the break.
Ramsey was 4 of 6 from the field with four free throws and had four rebounds. Harden was 5 of 11 with five rebounds.
Chelsea Barnes and
Sophie Bhasin each scored nine points.
Bisera Peshkova added eight.
Sophomore
Loli Gomez led CSUSB with a career-high nine rebounds. Senior
Chelsea Austin had three blocks and Mack led with three steals.
The Coyotes return to the road this week with games at Cal Poly Pomona (Thursday) and Humboldt State (Saturday).
