Box Score AZUSA (Sept. 3, 2015) – One of the most efficient offensive games in this history of CSUSB men's soccer proved to be the difference in the Coyotes' season opener against No. 19 Azusa Pacific.
The Coyotes totaled five shots on the night and scored four goals in shocking the Pac West Favorite Cougars before a crowd of 179 at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
Down 1-0 in the 26
th minute, CSUSB came roaring back with four unanswered goals.
Junior
Daniel Looker put the Yotes on the board on a header off a corner kick delivered by
Eric Lavery in the 36
th minute.
The teams were tied at 1-1 at halftime, but Lavery came through on a free kick into the upper left corner in the 50
th minute.
Luca Falcone and
Tony Lo each padded the Coyotes score to 4-1 before APU got a late goal.
Sophomore
Debray Hollimon earned two assists and Falcone had the other on the night.
GK
Mike Warn earned the victory in 90 minutes with three saves. Defensively, CSUSB stopped 13 of 14 second-half APU shots.
CSUSB is off until Wednesday when it plays at Simon Fraser.
