SAN BERNARDINO (Sept. 15, 2015) — Visiting UC San Diego gained control early on the 14
th-ranked Coyotes and handed them a 25-20, 25-17, 25-11 loss in the CCAA volleyball opener for both teams Tuesday night at Coussoulis Arena.
The Coyotes, who had their four-match winning streak snapped, take a 7-2 overall record into Saturday afternoon's match at conference newcomer Cal State San Marcos.

Brenna McIntosh was thwarted in her effort to become CSUSB's all-time career blocks leader. She had three on the evening and needs three more to surpass the record of 498 held by Coyote Hall of Famer Kim Morohunfola.
McIntosh led the Coyotes in kills with 10 and hit .529 against the Tritons (5-4). She had the Coyotes' only solo block with two block assists.
CSUSB had difficulty handling UCSD's serving as proven by its nine receiving errors.
UCSD fired off .372 and .341 attack efforts in the first two sets, then held the Coyotes to a negative .034 in the final set for its first 3-0 win over CSUSB since the 1993 season.
Ashley Solis had eight kills and 18 digs and freshman libero
Hannah Barrett had 10 digs for the Coyotes.
UCSD hit .321 with 44 kills, 10 errors and 106 attacks. It was led by Kameron Cooper, who had 13 kills, one error in 16 attacks, good for a .750 percentage. Meagan Wright had 12 kills.
