Box Score SAN BERNARDINO (Sept. 12, 2015) -- The Coyotes produced a flurry of offensive activity in the first half, then hunkered down on defense for a 3-2 victory over Concordia-Irvine in nonconference men's soccer Saturday afternoon.
CSUSB, now 2-1 overal, face Fresno Pacific on Tuesday night for its final nonconference match of the season.
Chris Lavery scored two goals and
Hieu Ngo added the other.
Just seven minutes into the game, Lavery took a pass from
Robert Wagner and fired past the Eagles Jordan Brinkley for the goal.
Not 32 seconds later, Concordia answered when it got the ball from Connor Gordon.
But CSUSB scored again for the lead, thanks to Ngo's shot from Wagner in the 8th minute mark.
Lavery gave the Coyotes a 3-1 in the 14th minute.
Tony Lo found Lavery all alone and he challenged Brinkley one-on-one for the goal.
Concordia completed the scoring in the 23rd minute on a goal from Gordon.
Lavery had four shots on the day -- all SOG. The Coyotes had 10 corners and totaled 12 shots.
