Box Score HAYWARD (April 19, 2015) -- Cal State East Bay scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the visiting Coyotes in the series finale Sunday in CCAA baseball.
The Coyotes (9-31, 7-24 CCAA) plays at nationally-ranked UC San Diego on Tuesday night before they begin their upcoming weekend series with Cal State L.A. on Thursday night in L.A.
Aaron Owen had a big weekend for CSUSB with a 4-for-5 effort.
Warren Fishback had a two-run home run in the first.
Tied at 2-2 through four innings, the Coyotes regained the lead with a two-run fifth.
Damion Edmonds lifted a one-out single to left that scored
Ryan Rich. Edmonds later scored on a sacrifice fly by
Trevor Williams.
The Coyotes then went ahead 5-2 on
Andrew Lopez's sac fly that scored
Jose Hernandez, and after CSUEB got a run in the sixth, the Coyotes pulled ahead 6-3 on a
Grant Buchanan single.
But the Pioneers (14-25, 11-21) scored two runs in the eighth, then added two in the ninth for the win.
Starter
Brian Conley threw six innings and gave up six hits, three runs (all earned) with four strikeouts.
Hernandez had two hits.
