Box Score 2 ROHNERT PARK (March 6, 2015) -- Jon-Paolo D'Este keyed the Coyotes attack with three hits as his team ripped a season-high 14 hits in a 13-5 loss to Sonoma State in CCAA baseball Friday afternoon.
CSUSB (3-15, 1-8 CCAA) lost their eighth straight game and it will look to bounce back against the Seawolves in Saturday's doubleheader.
Grant Buchanan helped the Coyotes in the first inning with a run-scoring double that scored Damion Edmonds (single). Warren Fishback followed with a sacrifice fly that brought in Buchanan and the Coyotes held a 2-0 lead.
But SSU answered with 10 runs over the first four innings and never looked back.
Andrew Lopez had a sac fly that scored Aaron Owen in the fourth and Owen had a run-scoring single in the sixth.
Edmonds, Kevin Meriwether, Buchanan, Owen and Dylan Lohman all had two hits for CSUSB.
RHP Tyler Rahier took the loss in 2 2/3 innings. He had two walks, gave up eight hits and seven of the eight runs charged were earned.
