Mack attack leads the Coyotes charge

STOCKTON (March 4, 2015) -- Alexcia Mack became the first Coyote to earn All-CCAA first-team honors in three seasons and leads four Coyotes on the 2014-14 All-CCAA teams, the conference announced at its annual pretournament banquet Wednesday night at the Stockton Hilton.

Juniors Brianna Harden and Chelsea Barnes both earned second-team honors and junior Adriana Brodie honorable mention for the Coyotes (18-8 overall), who open CCAA Tournament play 12:05 p.m. Thursday afternoon as the fifth seed against fourth-seed UC San Diego (18-9) at the Stockton Arena.

Not since the 2004-05 season have the Coyotes had as many athletes earn All-CCAA honors.

Mack leads the Coyotes in scoring at 13.5 points in 35 minutes of play per game for the Coyotes. She has led her team in scoring nine times, and assists 10 times. She has seven games of at least 20 points with a career-high 24 on two occasions.

Angela Streets was the last Coyote to earn first-team status, accomplished in 2011-12..

Harden ranks 29th in the NCAA and second in the CCAA in double-doubles with 13 in 26 games. She is averaging 12.3 points and 9.3 rebounds and has scored in double figures 21 times.

Barnes, who scored 34 points last week in the 85-80 OT loss to Cal Poly Pomona, also has led the Coyotes in scoring nine times. That point total is the most by a Coyote in three seasons.

Brodie had seven double-figure rebound games and scored in double figures 12 times. She averages 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in 26 games -- all starts.

The Coyotes are ranked 10th in this week's NCAA West Region poll. Their 18 wins marks just the sixth time CSUSB has reached that number of victories since becoming a Division II member in 1991-92.
