SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 2, 2015) -- Dillon Fahr led the Coyotes with a pair of singles and Andrew Lopez added a double in the Coyotes' 6-2 loss to Azusa Pacific in the season opener for both teams at Fiscalini Field on Monday night.

CSUSB (0-1) prepares for a four-game series this weekend at home against Holy Names University.

The Cougars scored two unearned runs in the first off Coyotes starter Tyler Rahier, and another unearned run in the second in a game they led throughout. CSUSB cut the deficit to 2-1 in the first, thanks to Fahr's run-scoring single that drove in Damion Edmonds, who reached on an error.

The Cougars pushed the lead to 4-1 in the fifth, and the Coyotes mounted a comeback in the fifth when Lopez scored on a wild pitch.

APU extended its lead with a two-run seventh.

Rahier threw four innings and struck out five and gave up six hits. He allowed four runs, but just one was earned. Reliever Ruben Rios had three strikeouts in 1.2 innings of relief for the Coyotes.

Jon-Paolo D'Este, William Ouellette and Kevin Meriwether all singled for the Coyotes, who had six hits.

Mitch Dergazarian had two doubles and Austin Shives had one for APU.

The game marked the first time CSUSB played at night at Fiscalini in several seasons, thanks to a major upgrade to the park's lights.
