Box Score SAN BERNARDINO (Feb. 28, 2015) – When CSUSB meets UC San Diego in the opening round of the CCAA Tournament , it hopes to have a different result than the one Saturday night.

Adriana Brodie led the Coyotes with a game-high 18 points, but the visiting Tritons played stronger down the stretch to hand CSUSB a 64-61 loss at Coussoulis Arena.
UCSD gained the No. 4 seed and the Coyotes No. 5 and will meet again for the second time in six days at 12:05 p.m. Thursday at the conference tourney at the Stockton Arena.
The Tritons owned the lead over the final 8 minutes and 43 seconds, despite not having more than a three-point advantage the remainder of the game. Five times the Coyotes cut the deficit to one, but did not get over the hump.
Each team shot 42 percent from the floor, but the Coyotes hit just 50 percent of their free throws (7-14) and were only four of 10 in the second half.
Brodie was outstanding in 32 minutes of work. She hit 8 of 10 shots with a pair of free throws and three rebounds. She was followed by
Chelsea Barnes with 14 and
Brianna Harden with 12.
The largest lead either team had was six points by UCSD early in the first half, but the Coyotes got going with a 7-0 run in a 70-second span and led 27-22 on
Alexcia Mack's jumper with 4:47 left. They went into halftime leading 34-31.
After the game's 12
th tie, Brodie totaled four points that capped a 6-1 run for a 51-46 lead with 11:46 left. But the Tritons answered with eight straight points and stayed out front for good.
Dana Webster led the Tritons (18-9, 16-6) with 17 points. Taylor Tanita had 13 and Beth Mounier 12.
