William Ouellette all had two RBI for the Coyotes in their 8-7 loss to visiting Cal Poly Pomona in CCAA baseball Friday night at Fiscalini Field.

The Coyotes (3-8, 1-1 CCAA) and Broncos (6-2, 1-1) conclude their four-game series Saturday with an 11 a.m. doubleheader at CPP's Scolinos Field.

CSUSB had an odd start as the Broncos struck with five runs on five hits and sent 11 batters to the plate against Coyotes RHP
Tyler Wells. However, Wells had four strikeouts in the inning and finished with nine in 4 1/3 innings. He allowed nine hits, seven runs (six earned).

Down 7-1 entering their half of the fifth, the Coyotes got to within two runs with a four-run fifth. Ouellette had a two-run single to right, and Fishback and
Spencer Bayless followed with RBI.

Then in the sixth, Buchanan came through with a two-run single up the middle that scored
Andrew Lopez (walk) and
Dylan Lohman (walk).

But CPP got the lead for good on Mike Munoz's RBI single to right.

Fishback had two doubles for CSUSB, but the bottom five of the order were a combined 0-for-18.

Coyotes relievers --
Chris Neff,
Dylan Mitchell (0-1),
Daniel Diaz and
Ruben Rios -- combined to throw 4 2/3 innings of one-run relief and allowed just four hits.

But the damage was done early against Wells.

Kyle Garlick homered and tripled for CPP.
