POMONA (Dec. 12, 2015) -- Guard
Keith Smith scored six of his 10 second-half points late and the visiting Coyotes rallied in their 72-63 win over Pomona-Pitzer in nonconference play Saturday night.
CSUSB (3-3 overall) trailed 60-57 with 4:57 remaining when the Coyotes got going. Two free throws from Smith, and layups from
Anthony January and
Darryl Adigwu gave CSUSB a six-point swing in a minute and a half stretch.
Senior
Zeke DeBlase and Smith then combined for nine points down the stretch and the Sagehens scored only three points -- all free throws -- after their final lead.
DeBlase led the Coyotes with 16 points and fellow guard
Juan Martinez had 14. The two combined for seven of the Coyotes' nine 3-pointers.
Desi Barmore joined Smith with 10 points as CSUSB shot 51.5 percent from the floor in the final half after shooting only 22.6 percent in the first half.
January had nine points off the bench with five rebounds. Barmore led the Coyotes with nine boards.
