SAN LUIS OBISPO (Nov. 5, 2015) -- Juan Martinez scored 16 points and Jarion Henry grabbed 10 rebounds in the Coyotes' 73-60 loss to Cal Poly in exhibition men's basketball Thursday night.

CSUSB opens the season Nov. 13 at Azusa Pacific.

The Mustangs' David Nwaba led with 19 points and scored his team's first eight points of the second half to put CP in control 52-38 with 15:03 remaining. The Coyotes, who trailed the entire game, got no closer than 10 points after Nwaba's flurry.

Phil Reed scored 13 points and Zeke DeBlase added 10 for CSUSB. Reed was one rebound shy of earning a double-double with nine.

CSUSB trailed 31-19 with 5:31 remaining in the first half. Thanks to Reed's eight points, CSUSB outscored the Mustangs 17-6 and cut the deficit to 37-36 on a Martinez 3-pointer with 1:49 left.

CP answered back with a seven-point spurt down the stretch and led 44-36 at the break.
