LA JOLLA (Nov. 27, 2015) -- Senior
Chelsea Barnes scored a game-high 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting, but poor outside shooting cost the Coyotes in their 64-62 loss to No. 25 Azusa Pacific during Thursday's UC San Diego Thanksgiving Tourney play.
The Coyotes (2-1 overall) take on Dominican on Saturday at 1 p.m.
CSUSB was just 3 of 18 on 3-pointers and that wasn't enough to overcome the Cougars (6-1), who grabbed the lead for good in the second quarter.
Barnes gave the Coyotes their largest lead of the game at 11 when her free throw lifted CSUSB ahead 19-8 with 38 seconds to go in the first.
But APU caught fire, outscoring CSUSB 16-0 for a 25-19 lead with 6:26 left in the first half.
Barnes also had five rebounds with a block and an assist in 24 minutes. Senior
Brianna Harden scored 13 points with seven rebounds and two assists.

Adriana Brodie had six points with six rebounds.
Chelsea Austin led the Coyotes on the glass with nine rebounds despite being held scoreless.
