SAN BERNARDINO (Oct. 31, 2015) — Once No. 19 Cal State San Bernardino gained a lead on visiting Cal Poly Pomona, the Coyotes never let it go.
Tied at 1-1, CSUSB came back and took control over the final two sets in its 3-1 Senior Night victory over the Broncos in CCAA volleyball Saturday night.
CSUSB earned its 10
th straight win and improved to 21-3 overall and 13-2 in the CCAA, while CPP dropped to 13-11, 9-7.

Malika O'Brien led the Coyotes in kills (14), attack percentage (.481) and added a solo block and a block assist in their 25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21 victory. Senior OH
Alexandra Torline followed with 13 kills, two service aces and 11 digs, and sophomore OH
Lauren Nicholson had 12 kills with 12 digs in the match that had 14 tie scores and five lead changes, but only one after the second set.
CSUSB found itself trailing 5-0 in the early going in the opener, and battled back for its first lead 15-14. Two more ties took place before O'Brien's kill gave CSUSB a 24-23 lead and the Coyotes eventually won a CPP attack error.
CPP came back with a .322 team effort on the attack in the second to tie the match at 1-1.
But the final two sets belonged to the Coyotes, who opened the third with a 6-0 lead and hit .312 (14-4-32). Three Nicholson and O'Brien kills featured the run and CPP was just 45 percent on sideouts.
CSUSB hit . 227 in the fourth and final set and never let the lead go away after trailing on the set's first point.

Jayann DeHoog had 42 assists and contributed six digs. Senior
Kaitlyn Christner had five kills with nine digs and a solo and block assist.

Ashley Solis offered eight kills with nine digs and a block assist.
Abbey Vollkommer had a service ace and senior
Kirsten Edgemon led in digs with 17.
The five Coyotes seniors — Christner, Edgemon,
Brenna McIntosh, Solis and Torline — were honored in a prematch ceremony in their final regular-season home match at Coussoulis.
CPP's Deanna Blaine and Kristin Hamlin had 12 kills apiece. Zoe Herrera had 29 digs.
The Coyotes return to the road this week at Chico State (Friday) and Stanislaus State (Saturday).
