Box Score ROHNERT PARK (Sept. 20, 2014) -- No. 7 Cal State San Bernardino played two five-set matches in its weekend trip to the Bay Area, winning 3-2 over Sonoma State on Saturday night.

Alexandra Torline was outstanding, hitting .314 on the attack with a match-high 19 kills and only three errors in 51 attacks. Right behind Torline on this night was senior All-American MB
Tori May with 14 kills, one solo block and eight block assists.
The 23-25, 25-20, 25-11, 23-25, 15-11 victory had 31 ties, but just six over the final three sets.
After an arduous second set in which the Coyotes hit .273 and put forth 75 percent on sideouts, they found another gear in the third set.

The Coyotes trailed 24-18 in the fourth and made a valiant effort down the stretch. CSUSB hit five straight poinnts, led by four kills from Torline -- the last to pull the Coyotes to a point (24-23), but Caylie Seitz got the set winner on a kill and the match extended to five sets.
The Coyotes were down 7-4 in the fifth, but climbed back.
A May kill stopped the run and with
Abbey Vollkommer serving, Torline and May had a block assist and each one had a kill and CSUSB went ahead 8-7.
Kills from Torline and McIntosh keyed CSUSB as it led 11-9 and another kill from Torline forced SSU to call a timeout.
CSUSB stayed ahead and the match belonged to the Coyotes when Christner fired a kill for the 15-11 win.
Christner was the only other Coyote in double figures in kills (11) and Liserra dealt 43 assists.
Vollkommer and Torline each had two service aces. Christner was strong on the block as well with six block assists. McIntosh hit .278 and had one solo block and eight block assists.
CSUSB (6-2, 3-1 CCAA) makes its home debut Thursday night against Chico State.
SSU fell to 4-4, 2-2.
