Down 2-0, the No. 8 Coyotes stormed back in their match Friday against Cal State East Bay and won 3-2 in the CCAA volleyball opener for both teams.
Junior OH
Alexandra Torline led the Coyotes with 25 kills and her team added 26 block assists, led by three with seven apiece in the 19-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22, 15-5 victory.
CSUSB, now 4-1 overall and 1-0 CCAA, completes the weekend Saturday night at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Kaitlyn Christner with seven block assists. McIntosh had two solo blocks and senior L
Arielle McCullough had a match-high 21 digs.
After falling behind 2-0, the Coyotes methodically approached the third set with patience.
Down 13-10, the Coyotes outscored the Pioneers 15-3 for the set thanks to three kills from Torline and two from junior OH
Ashley Solis. May and McIntosh had two block assists in the run, Christner had one and McIntosh had a solo block.
Junior DS
Jordan Ortega earned the set winner on a service ace.
In the fourth set, CSUSB never trailed. Four Coyotes had multiple kills, led by Torline's six in the set.

Kim Cherniss received 46 of the team's 49 assists from sophomore S
Hannah Liserra (24) and junior
Ciara Richards (22).
CSUSB improved in its serving with nine aces on the night to just five errors.
The final set was all about the Coyotes, though, who grabbed a 5-0 lead thanks to two aces from McCullough.
The Coyotes was 5-of-6 on sideouts, while forcing CSUEB into four attack errors in the set.
