LOS ANGELES -- The Coyotes were dealt a sweep at the hands of host Cal State L.A. in the teams' CCAA series finale Saturday afternoon.
The Coyotes lost 10-4 in the opener and 6-3 in the second game.
CSUSB (9-21 overall, 7-12 CCAA) returns to Fiscalini Field this week with a series against Sonoma State, beginning at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Game 1: CSULA 10, Coyotes 4
Remington Miller had a double for the Coyotes, who had 10 hits.
Down 5-0 through three innings, Spencer Bayless drove in Brian Lockey on a two-out single to second.
CSULA padded the lead 8-1, before the Coyotes got a run in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk to Nick Oddo, and scored two runs in the eighth.
Nolan Almodovar, William Oullette, Miller and Bayless all had two hits.
Game 2: CSULA 6, Coyotes 3
The Golden Eagles scored five runs in the second, before the Coyotes cut the lead to 5-2 in the third.
Nick Oddo came through with a two-out, two-run home run to right that also scored Oullette (single).
Then in the fourth, Oullette drove in Bayless (double) on a single to right with two outs.
Oullette, Oddo and Bayless had two hits each.
