Don Parnell and his Coyotes received a stellar effort from senior LHP
Kerry Kelley, who threw a complete game with 11 strikeouts in Friday night's 7-3 win at Cal State Stanislaus.
The Coyotes (7-15 overall, 5-8 CCAA) and Warriors play a doubleheader Saturday and a Sunday single game and are then off for a week due to Finals.
Kelley was spectacular in his nine innings. After giving up a run in the first and two in the third, he finished with six straight shutout innings.
Trailing 3-2 through three innings,
Aaron Beckley and
Spencer Bayless had back-to-back run scoring singles that
highlighted a two-run, six-hit fourth and led 4-3.
Beckley added a run in the sixth after reaching on a double and the Coyotes scored consecutive runs on a sacrifice fly by
Brian Lockey and a two-out, RBI single by
Nick Oddo.
Nolan Almodovar,
William Ouellette,
Trevor McMaster and Beckley all had two hits.
