RIVERSIDE -- The Coyotes ran into a dominant pitcher Friday night in their 7-0 loss to Cal Baptist in nonconference baseball.

CSUSB (0-4 overall) and the Lancers (5-0) resume their three-game series Saturday at Fiscalini Field. First pitch is 1 p.m.

The Coyotes struck out nine times against CBU starter Trevor Oaks. He allowed only four hits -- all singles.

Nolan Almodovar, William Ouellette, Trevor McMaster and Richard Mount accounted for the Coyotes' four singles.

Coyotes starter Dylan Mitchell threw two innings. He gave up five hits, five runs (all earned) and struck out two with three walks.

Ruben Rios threw six innings of relief and had four strikeouts, allowed one walk and gave up five hits. He allowed two runs -- both earned.
