SAN BERNARDINO -- Spencer Bayless connected on a three-run home run and Trevor McMaster added a solo home to key the host Coyotes past Cal State Dominguez Hills 10-2 in the four-game series finale at Fiscalini Field on Saturday.

Earlier, the Coyotes lost a game that continued from Friday, resulting in an 11-8 loss and they dropped Saturday's opener, 8-6.

CSUSB (3-10 overall, 3-5 CCAA) returns to CCAA play Friday at San Francisco State.

Cal State Dominguez Hills 11, Coyotes 8

William Ouellette led the Coyotes with two hits and a pair of RBI and Richard Mount totaled three RBI including two sacrifice flys, but a four-run seventh keyed the Toros to victory.

Trailing 10-7 in the top of the eighth inning when darkness was called, the game was pushed to Saturday morning.

Ouellette was left standing at the plate when the game was called, and one day later, his run-scoring single drove in Mount and CSUSB trailed 10-8.

But the Coyotes could not close the gap.

Kevin Meriwether also had three hits and Nolan Almodovar had two hits.

Game 1: Cal State Dominguez Hills 8, Coyotes 6

Down 5-4 in the seventh, Spencer Bayless reached base on an error and later scored on a passed ball to tie the game at 5-5.

But CSUDH answered with a three-run ninth and the Coyotes, who scored one run in the ninth, could not get any closer.

The Coyotes had seven hits -- all singles -- and Bayless had a two-run single in the second.

Game 2: Coyotes 10, Cal State Dominguez Hills

CSUSB struck with seven runs on seven hits with Bayless delivering a three-run home run over the left-field wall in the first inning.

Back-to-back singles by Meriwether, Nolan Almodovar and Trevor McMaster got the Coyotes rolling. Three batters later and with CSUSB leading 3-0, Bayless sent his shot for the 7-0 lead.

That would be enough for freshman RHP Tyler Wells, who six strikeouts and gave up six hits over six innings.

McMaster then led off with a home to left in the second and Aaron Owen added a sacrifice fly RBI and CSUSB led 8-1.

Meriwether had three hits as the Coyotes out-slugged the Toros, 12-7.

The game was completed under the lights at Fiscalini Field, the first time in recent memory.
