Alexandra Torline brought down 18 kills to lead three Coyotes in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the No. 18 Coyotes were dealt a 3-2 loss to No. 10 Fresno Pacific in UC San Diego Tourney play Friday afternoon.

Brenna McIntosh was right behind Torline with 17 kills and five total blocks (four block assists) and fellow middle blocker
Tori May had 10 kills and three block assists in the 25-21, 24-26, 25-16, 22-25, 21-23 defeat.
The 44 combined fifth-set points are the most ever scored by two teams in CSUSB history.
The Firebirds (4-0 overall) were led by the one-two punch of Rupia Inch and Morghan Williams. Inch had 28 kills on 67 attack with 13 digs and three total blocks, and Williams had 19 kills with six total blocks (five block assists).
After taking the first set, CSUSB had a chance to at securing a 2-0 match lead. A May kill gave the Coyotes a 23-22 lead, but two CSUSB attack errors factored in the Firebirds' comeback set win.
CSUSB then shook off that disappointing set loss, by utilizing a 14-4 run – with freshman setter
Hannah Liserra opening the run with a pair of service aces – and grapped a 2-1 lead.
In the fourth and trailing 22-17, Torline took over. She pounded four straight kills to bring the Coyotes to within a point of the lead. But Fresno Pacific got a kill from Inck and they remained out front to tie the match.
Seven times, the Coyotes were within a point of winning the fifth set and match, but Fresno Pacific answered each time. With the set tied at 21-21, Inck's two kills gave the Firebirds the victory.
CSUSB fired .209 on the match (65 kills/24 errors/196 attacks). Liserra led the Coyotes in assists with 37 and in service aces (four).

Jordan Ortega 13.

Torline came through with an impressive .609 attack percentage on the strength of 16 kills on 23 attacks as the Coyotes defeated the Seawolves 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-21).
CSUSB bounced back from the disappointing loss against Fresno Pacific with 51 total kills, en route to a .364 attack percentage.
McIntosh and May were solid at their middle blocker positions as they combined for 20 kills with each throwing down 10.
Torline's consecutive kills allowed the Coyotes to grab control of the Seawolves in the first set at 16-15.
The Coyotes led throughout most of the second half, but UAA came back within a point at 23-22 with a service ace from Morgan Hooe. But Torline came through with a kill on the next point and McIntosh closed the set with a solo block.
In the final set, the Coyotes built an 18-11 lead, before UAA answered with a 10-3 run and tied the set at 21-all.
But CSUSB regained the momentum after a UAA ballhandling error and closed it out with a kill from May, a UAA attack error and a kill from Kaitlyn Christner.
