Box Score TURLOCK – Four hundred and ninety minutes have come and gone in the 2013 season and one thing has become abundantly clear for the Coyotes.
They have yet to be scored upon and as a result, own an unbeaten season.
Roberto Mariscal's goal in the 45
th minute was the difference maker as the Coyotes defeated host Cal State Stanislaus 1-0 in CCAA men's soccer Friday night.
The victory was the Coyotes' fifth straight shutout as they pushed their record to 3-0-2 overall and 1-0 in the CCAA. They will close the weekend Sunday at Cal State East Bay.
The top notch defensive effort appeared again with goal keeper
Jeff Salt, who improved his record to 2-0-2 with four shutouts. CSUSB allowed only one shot on goal for the game, coming in the second half.
Mariscal led the Coyotes with four total shots and made his only SOG count.
Larry Llamas totaled three shots.
The game went the Coyotes' way when junior
Gabriel Quintero's shot was blocked and Mariscal was at the right place at the right time with a well-placed shot past Warriors' GK Clint Long.
