WALNUT CREEK – The Coyotes' Ruben Rios has been named the Rawlings/California Collegiate Athletic Association Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 1-7.

The sophomore right-hander started in the Coyotes' Sunday's 2-1, 13-inning loss against No. 5 Chico State.

He allowed just one hit and a single walk in seven innings of work, while striking out eight Wildcat batters. He retired 11 batters in order and threw 4 1/3 innings of no-hit ball.

Rios also was named the National College Baseball Writers' Association's West Region Pitcher of the Week for his efforts this past Sunday.
