CHICO – No. 5 Chico State took a pair from the Coyotes, handing CSUSB a 6-1 defeat in the opener and a 10-3 loss in the second game Saturday.
CSUSB, now 11-20 overall and 5-18 CCAA, looks to snap its seven-game losing streak in the series finale Sunday.

The Coyotes ran into top-billing pitching against the Wildcats as three pitchers combined to strike out 14 Coyotes in the opener.
Billy Hamilton put the Coyotes on the scoreboard in the seventh with a two-out double to right that scored
Curtis Cassise, who doubled to the right corner.
Game 2: Chico State 10, Coyotes 3
Down 9-0 through five innings, CSUSB got on the board with a three-run sixth.
Jake Pilkerton earned the Coyotes' first RBI with an infield groundout that scored
Michael Castello, who singled. One batter later,
Remington Miller lifted a single to right that scored
Trevor McMaster and
Andrew Harrison, each singled.
