SAN BERNARDINO -- The Coyotes rallied with two runs in the 10th inning in their 6-5 win over visiting San Francisco State in CCAA baseball Sunday at Fiscalini Field.

The Coyotes (15-25 overall, 9-23 CCAA) and Gators (15-29, 12-24) split their four-game series. CSUSB is on the road Thursday night at UC San Diego.

Down 5-4 in the bottom of the 10th, the Coyotes started their rally on pinch-hitter Billy Hamilton's single to second. Colton Johnson then laid down a sacrifice bunt that moved over pinch-runner Josh Herrera to second.

After Jake Pilkerton grounded out to third, Curtis Cassise reached on a walk and the Coyotes had runners at first and second with Remington Miller at the plate.

Miller delivered a sinking liner to left that outfielder Grady Espinoza could not handle and Herrera tied the game at 5-5.

That brought up Andrew Harrison, who hit a hard ground ball that went right between shortstop Miguel Flores' legs and Cassise came around to score the game-winning run.

Sophomore RHP Matt LeVert (2-2) earned the win in two innings of relief. He struck out two and walked just one.
The Coyotes opened the game in a difficult spot, giving up three runs in the first inning.

But sophomore RHP Ruben Rios shook off that rough start and settled down. After giving up four hits in the opening frame, he gave up only one more hit over the next six innings.

CSUSB broke through in second when Steven Chagolla scored from second on a throwing error by the catcher in an attempt to throw out Michael Castello.

CSUSB then tied the game in the fourth. After Harrison led off the inning with a single to to second, Aaron Beckley ripped a two-run home run off Gators RHP Nolan Sheridan.

The Gators went ahead 4-3 in the eighth. Coyotes reliever Phil Gonzalez was immediately greeted on a solo leadoff home run by Espinosa to left.

But CSUSB came back to tied the game at 4 in its half of the eighth. Miller, who came in to replace Tyler Staab in the eighth, singled to left center that scored Jake Pilkerton from second.

The game remained tied at 4-4 until SFSU came through with a run in the 10th. Mark Lindsay hit a hard ground ball that went right under second baseman Johnson's glove and Flores came around to score from second.
