Kissell outlasts Gators with complete-game victory

Coyotes earn 8-2 win over SFSU

SAN BERNARDINO -- Aaron Beckley led the Coyotes with a 3-for-3 effort and RHP Ken Kissell threw a complete game in CSUSB's 8-2 victory over visiting San Francisco State in CCAA baseball Friday afternoon at Fiscalini Field.

The Coyotes, who are now 14-23 overall and 8-21 CCAA, face the Gators (13-28, 10-23) in Saturday's doubleheader that begins at 12 p.m.

Beckley gave the Coyotes a 1-0 lead in the first when he delivered a single to left that scored Curtis Cassise, who reached on an error on the right fielder.

CSUSB added another run in the third on Christian Gomez' single to right that scored Steven Chagolla, who doubled.

After the Gators got to within a run in the fifth, Justin Lamb tied the game in the sixth with a solo home run to left center, his first of the season.

But the Coyotes created distance in their half of the fifth when they sent 11 batters to the plate.

Trevor McMaster delivered a long, fly ball to left center that the center fielder dropped, and three runners came in to score to put CSUSB up 5-2.

Gomez and Cassise each followed with run-scoring singles to push the Coyotes up 8-2.

Kissell was effiicient in his nine innings. He gave up nine hits, both runs were earned and he struck out two with two
walks.

Five Coyotes came through with multiple hits, led by Beckley. Gomez, Cassise, Billy Hamilton, and McMaster each had two hits, while Chagolla and Remington Miller each doubled.
