Alyssa Flores and
Victoria Lievanos earned Player of the Day honors for their efforts in helping the Coyotes earn the series sweep over Chico State, winning 4-3 and 7-6 on Saturday in CCAA softball.
The Coyotes, now 17-29 overall and 11-17 CCAA, are currently enjoying their longest winning streak in two seasons. They have now won four straight matching their best since the end of the 2011 campaign that saw CSUSB reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.
CSUSB concluded its home portion of the 2013 schedule Saturday and the Coyotes honored seniors

Jamie Leffingwell in a postgame ceremony.
Game 1: Coyotes 4, Chico State 3
The Coyotes found themselves trailing 3-0 before they had a chance to bat, but they whittled the Wildcats' lead and eventually won in the seventh inning.
After Chico State grabbed the 3-0 lead, the Coyotes came back with a run in the first on a sacrifice fly from
Alyssa Flores that drove in
Jacqueline Lopez.
The Coyotes then got to within a run of the Wildcats' lead in the sixth. Leffingwell delivered a double to left that scored
Melissa Roberts, who pinch-ran for Flores.
In the seventh,
Charlotte Galzote led off with a triple and
Na'Tavia Lee singled.
Darian Manuz walked to load the bases and Galzote scored when Lopez reached on an error by the shortstop.
Alyssa Ramos then reached on a fielder's choice that forced out Lee at home, bringing up Flores.
The Fontana senior deftly ripped a single through the left side for the game winner.
Junior RHP
Taylor Davis was the story on the mound for the Coyotes. She came on in relief of starter
Kacey Cota in the first inning and was lights out. She threw 6 2/3 innings, and gave up five hits and did not allow a run. She had one strikeout and three walks.
Ramos and Flores each had two hits for the Coyotes.
Game 2: Coyotes 7, Chico State 6
A 3-0 lead by the Coyotes was washed away when Chico State came through with a four-run third and the Wildcats eventually built the lead to 6-4 heading into the Coyotes' sixth inning.
With two outs,
Victoria Lievanos delivered a double to center that cleared the bases and allowed the Coyotes to grab the lead at 7-6.
Davis, who entered in the fifth inning, was on in the seventh. She gave up a lead-off single to Amanda Cordeiro. After Kayla Barber sacrifice moved Cordeiro to second, Davis induced Marlee Rettig into a 1-3 groundout and the Coyotes were within an out of the win.
Brooke Langeloh followed with a two-out walk, but Davis got out of the jam when Kellie Keefe grounded out to second to end the game.
Manuz, Ramos and Flores each had two hits and Flores had two RBI on the game.
